Dr. Steve Lai is an experienced executive and board member with extensive leadership in various industries. Served on the boards of publicly listed companies Yongmao Holdings Limited and Intraco Limited. Currently on the boards of publicly listed 17LIVE Group Ltd and CSC Holdings Ltd. He is also a director on non listed companies, Singapore Power & Gas Institute Pte Ltd (subsidiary of Singapore Power Ltd), and 3D Media School Pte Ltd, Steve has also held CEO positions at PSB Academy (Tertiary education, training & consultancy) and PSB Technologies (Product design & development and high precision automation). His career includes significant roles such as Deputy CEO at TUV SUD PSB Corporation and General Manager at the Singapore Productivity & Standards Board (Standards, testing & certification).

With a PhD and BSc (Hons) from Loughborough University of Technology, he is also a retired Chartered Chemist and Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He is a natural product organic chemist by training and spent many years as a drug designer with two American pharma companies.

He was awarded the National Day Award – The Public Admin Medal (Silver) and the Individual Green Leaf Award by the Ministry of Environment, Singapore. Steve has been active in a number of advisory boards, including Asia Capital Reinsurance Group and the Centre for Advanced Media Technology at NTU. He has been a lead consultant on several World Bank and foreign Government institutional and technical development projects and has been represented as director in several companies operating in China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

His interests include reading, travelling, photography, golf, fitness, endurance cycling and has a keen focus on product & process quality management, environment, sustainability, and technology development, application & transfer.
